Medical Office Admin / Phlebotomist Warden Wood Health Centre – Markham, Ontario

Join a growing multidisciplinary healthcare team dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.

Warden Wood Health Centre is seeking a professional, organized, and compassionate Medical Receptionist with Phlebotomy experience to join our team at our Markham location.

This is an in-person position for someone who enjoys working directly with patients in a busy family practice and walk-in clinic. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing front desk responsibilities with clinical duties and providing excellent service to both patients and physicians.

Employment Details

Location: Markham, Ontario

Position: In-Person

Current Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Additional hours will become available as the clinic continues to grow. Applicants must be flexible and available to work occasional evenings and Saturdays as required.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Welcome patients in a friendly and professional manner
  • Register patients and schedule appointments
  • Answer multi-line telephone system
  • Verify health cards and update patient information
  • Manage physician schedules and appointment bookings
  • Process referrals, forms, faxes, and incoming correspondence
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records using OSCAR Pro
  • Process payments for uninsured services
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy
  • Perform general administrative and clerical duties as required
  • Perform venipuncture and specimen collection as needed (lab just started)
  • Obtain patient vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, height, weight, waist circumference, and other measurements as required
  • Prepare patients for physician assessments and procedures
  • Assist physicians during examinations and minor procedures
  • Prepare, label, and process laboratory specimens
  • Clean and prepare examination rooms between patients
  • Stock examination rooms and monitor medical supply inventory
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in OSCAR Pro

Qualifications

  • Medical Office Administration diploma or equivalent experience
  • Phlebotomy certification with experience performing venipuncture
  • Current CPR certification preferred
  • Previous experience in a family practice, walk-in clinic, or multidisciplinary medical office preferred
  • Experience with OSCAR Pro
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Excellent computer, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Outstanding communication and customer service skills
  • Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Mandarin and/or Cantonese preferred
  • Flexible to work occasional evenings and Saturdays
