Salary range (but not limited to):

94,200 - 115,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

We are seeking Senior Specialty Solutions Underwriters to elevate impact within a dynamic, growth-focused team—bringing innovative perspectives, advancing expertise, and strengthening Intact’s network of Speciality Solution professionals.

These permanent, full-time hybrid roles are open across all offices nationally in Canada.


What
you’ll do here:

  • Accept, reject, endorse, renew or cancel policies following Intact underwriting guidelines and procedures, applicable laws and regulations and subject to authority level as specified by underwriting manager.

  • Develop business opportunities and long-term meaningful relationships with our broker partners by providing legendary service.

  • Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company.

  • Answer inquiries and make recommendations to brokers and underwriters through verbal and written correspondence.

  • Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development.

  • Review underwriting reports and make recommendations as required.

  • Communicate changes related to product pricing, underwriting guidelines and new products.

  • Support and mentor team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact.

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in Specialty Lines underwriting including but not limited to Corporate, Financial, Construction, Technology and Entertainment, Liability, Energy, Property, Agriculture, Transportation and/or Business Development.

  • Solutions-oriented with proven analytical approach, sound judgment, and effective complex risk management driving profitable growth.

  • Builds professional, long-term relationships with brokers, customers, and internal partners.

  • Proactive communicator who identifies needs and negotiates tailored broker solutions.

  • Managing multiple priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining quality under pressure.

  • Demonstrates critical thinking, respects diverse perspectives, and collaborates cross-functionally as an effective team contributor.

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
