Full job description

Duz Cho is seeking a General Labourer to work at the Mackenzie Load Out Facility (Ore Shed). If you think you have what it takes to join a dynamic team and become a lifetime member of a growing team, please apply without haste.

Duz Cho is a 100% Indigenous owned company, with ownership belonging to McLeod Lake Indian Band. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the diverse cultures and histories of local Indigenous communities. They must have demonstrated experience in applying Indigenous knowledge in a professional setting, adhering to cultural protocols, and working with a culturally safe approach. Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) Calls to Action and a commitment to advancing reconciliation are essential.

This position is full-time, permanent position that works:

  • Monday- Friday 6:00am – 2:30pm;
  • $27-$30/hour based on experience; OT as per applicable BC Legislation;
  • Company Vehicle and Tools provided;
  • Camp is optional;
  • Location: Mackenzie, BC

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance and labour duties to support the safe and efficient operations.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections to identify and address maintenance issues before failures occur.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, environmental regulations, and operational standards.
  • Use and maintain tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE) in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and equipment usage.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks and support overall operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Unlocking and locking rail car lids.
  • Ordering in and releasing rail cars.
  • Unloading con trucks.
  • Data entry.
  • Washing trucks and equipment.
  • Moving and loading rail cars.
  • Yard cleanup and snow removal (winter task)
  • Fueling equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Class 5 drivers’ licence is a requirement;
  • Must be clean shaven;
  • Must be able to wear half mask respirator;
  • Wheel loader experience is an asset;
  • Basic computer skills is an asset;
  • Passing an alcohol and drug test and physical test is a condition of employment;
