Full job description

MEMBER EXPERIENCE COORDINATOR — ENDURANCE TAEKWONDO (BURNABY)
Pay: CA$26.50 per hour, plus enrolment bonuses

Schedule: Monday–Friday 2:30 PM – 8:00 PM, Saturday 9:45 AM – 12:30 PM — approximately 30 hours per week

Location: 3355 North Road, Unit #278, Burnaby, BC V3J 7T9 — in person

The Role at a Glance

Endurance Taekwondo is not just a gym; we are a community institution — a 13-time winner of the Tri-City News Leaders Choice Award for Favourite Martial Arts School, including 10 consecutive years. We are seeking a high-energy professional to manage our front-of-house, welcome families, and drive enrolment for the next generation of students.
The Mission

We aren't looking for a "receptionist" to sit behind a desk. We are looking for a Relationship Builder.
Your mission is to ensure every person who walks through our doors feels like the most important person in the building. You will blend 5-star hospitality with operational precision, helping us grow the school while maintaining the service our families expect.
What You Will Do

  • The Ultimate Host: You are the first and last face our families see. You bring energy, warmth, and professionalism to the lobby every single day.
  • Enrolment & Growth: You will guide prospective families through their decision-making journey — from the initial phone inquiry to their first class — helping them understand the life-changing value of martial arts.
  • Community Connector: You will be the "go-to" person for parents and kids alike, handling questions, concerns, and feedback with grace and speed.
  • Operational Excellence: You will keep the academy running smoothly by managing student attendance, billing, and scheduling using ZenPlanner, our member management system.

Who You Are

  • You Have a "Service Heart": You genuinely love helping people. You can turn a stranger into a friend in minutes and handle a busy lobby with poise.
  • You're Great With Kids and Parents: Most of our members are children and their families. You're comfortable connecting with a 6-year-old and their parent in the same conversation.
  • You Are Growth-Minded: You aren't afraid of a sales conversation because you believe in the product. You are motivated by hitting goals and earning bonuses.
  • You Are Detail-Obsessed: You notice the small things — from a typo in an email to a stray bag in the lobby — and you fix them without being asked.
  • You Are Tech-Savvy: You are comfortable learning new software and maintaining accurate digital records.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 2+ years in a customer-facing role (high-end retail, hospitality, or front-desk administration preferred). Experience working with children and families is a strong asset.
  • Proximity: You live within a reasonable commute of Burnaby.
  • Tech: Experience with scheduling or member-management software (ZenPlanner, Google Workspace) is a strong asset.
  • Screening: Employment is conditional on a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector screening, as this role involves regular contact with children. Cost fully reimbursed.

Why Join Us?

  • Performance Bonuses: Your work is tied to the school's success. When we grow, you benefit — enrolment bonus details provided at interview.
  • Tuition-Free Training: Train free in our adult martial arts programs.
  • Culture of Excellence: Work in a high-performance, positive environment where you are treated as a partner in our success.

How to Apply

We value personality and presence above all else. To apply, please submit your resume and a short cover letter telling us specifically why you are the "People Person" we are looking for.
