Job Title: English and Spanish Speaking Tour Guides

Pay: CA$16.00 - CA$40.00 per hour (performance-based, including tips, bonuses, and commission)

Job Description

We’re seeking enthusiastic, multilingual Walking Tour Guides for our Calgary City tours. Ideal candidates are fluent in English, Spanish, and available to lead tours on weekdays and weekends. You’ll guide groups of 4-30 guests on entertaining, informative walking tours that highlight the city’s history, culture, and hidden gems.

We use a performance-based compensation model that rewards exceptional guides with higher earnings through tips, bonuses, and commissions. If you love Calgary, Canadian history, and sharing your passion with visitors, you’ll thrive here.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Creativity – Research, design, and customize tours with captivating stories.
  • Leadership – Welcome, lead, and guide groups of 4 to 30 people.
  • Customer Service – Represent Toonie Tours and the tour guide profession with enthusiasm.
  • Local Expertise – Provide local recommendations and travel tips to visitors.
  • Adaptability – Work outdoors in all weather conditions and adjust tours based on group needs.

Desired Profile

  • English Required. A Second language (Spanish) is an asset.
  • Engaging and Captivating – Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
  • Self-Sufficient and Motivated – Comfortable with a performance-based pay model.
  • Flexible and Confident – Adapts to changing outdoor conditions and group
  • expectations.
  • Punctual and Reliable – Always arrives early for every tour.
  • Physically Fit – Able to walk 5 km in 2.5 to 3 hours while speaking and leading.
  • Work Authorization – Must be legally allowed to work in Canada.
  • Experience with e-scooters: Comfortable riding e-scooters

Language Skills

  • English (spoken and written) – Mandatory.
  • French/Spanish/German/Portuguese/Italian – An asset.

License/Certification

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)

Compensation

  • $16.00 - $40.00 per hour
