Associate Veterinarian ​Pemberton Veterinary Hospital – Pemberton, British Columbia

Pemberton Veterinary Hospital is seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Veterinarian to join our team. We are a well-established, community-focused private practice providing high-quality care to primarily small animal patients, with the option to incorporate mixed animal work depending on interest and experience. Our clinic is located in the Pemberton Valley, just north of Whistler.​

The Practice

We have built a strong reputation within the community and maintain a loyal client base that values thorough, compassionate care. Our team emphasizes collaboration, efficiency, and a supportive working environment. Our doctors work with a high level of autonomy and are supported by a capable team. The role is well-suited to a veterinarian who is comfortable working independently and taking full ownership of their cases. ​

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 2–3 years of experience in small animal clinical practice
  • Confidence in routine soft tissue surgery and general anesthesia protocols
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, including case workups and ongoing case management
  • Proficiency in interpreting diagnostic imaging and laboratory results (radiography, bloodwork, cytology)
  • Ability to manage appointments independently, including medical record keeping and billing
  • Comfort performing hands-on technical skills (e.g., venipuncture) when required
  • Strong organizational skills, with consistent and thorough medical record keeping that meets professional and regulatory standards
  • Clear, professional, and empathetic communication with clients
  • A collaborative approach to working with veterinary technicians and support staff
  • Sound medical judgment and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of care
  • Interest or experience in mixed animal medicine (considered an asset but not required)
