This position has a term length of 2 years, with the possibility of extension.
Location - This role is hybrid with a mix of remote and in-person work at North Campus Edmonton.
The Research Coordinator works closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and research team to coordinate and support funded research projects and associated research activities from project initiation through completion.
The position supports day-to-day research operations, including project coordination, participant and stakeholder engagement, ethics administration, data management activities, and research dissemination support. The role also assists with qualitative and quantitative research activities, knowledge translation initiatives, and preparation of project deliverables such as reports, presentations, manuscripts, and grant-related documentation.
The Research Coordinator coordinates project timelines, monitors milestones and deliverables, and supports communication and collaboration among research team members, community partners, and external stakeholders to facilitate the successful completion of one or more research projects under the direction of the Principal Investigator.
The position primarily supports a CIHR-funded research project focused on Human Development and Child and Youth Health research.

It offers five CASN-accredited undergraduate programs and multiple graduate programs, including a PhD in Nursing. With over 1,700 students and strong partnerships across Alberta, the faculty leads innovative, high-impact research to meet the health needs of diverse communities and address global health challenges.- Coordinate day-to-day research project activities, timelines, milestones, and deliverables for one or more research projects in collaboration with the PI and research team.
- Conduct and support qualitative and quantitative research activities in accordance with approved study protocols and project objectives.
- Coordinate participant recruitment, scheduling, data collection activities, and follow-up processes, as applicable.
- Maintain project/s documentation, study records, and research files to support project continuity and compliance requirements.
- Support collaboration and communication with research sites, community partners, and external stakeholders across Canada.
- Assist with data analysis activities, knowledge syntheses, and interpretation of research findings under the direction of the research team.
- Prepare summaries, tables, figures, and supporting documentation for project reporting and dissemination activities.
- Monitor project/s progress and identify operational issues or scheduling concerns requiring follow-up with the PI.
- Minimum of a Master’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Psychology, Social Sciences, or a related health research field. A PhD is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and directly related research experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience supporting or coordinating health research projects within academic, healthcare, or community-based research environments.
- Experience supporting qualitative and quantitative research activities, including participant coordination, data collection, data management, and research reporting.
- Experience coordinating research ethics submissions, amendments, and renewals within institutional research environments.
- Experience supporting knowledge translation and dissemination activities, including reports, presentations, manuscripts, and grant-related documentation.
- Experience coordinating multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholder relationships in a fast-paced research environment.
- Experience using research and data management software such as NVivo, SPSS, REDCap, EndNote, or similar platforms.
This position is subject to all applicable terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the Governors of the University of Alberta and the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA).
