Junction Craft Beverage Co. (JCBC) is one of Ontario’s top craft breweries and beverage producers. Located in the Junction’s Stockyards area of west Toronto. Since 2011 the company has been steadily growing and now calls a beautiful former 1930’s Art Deco public works building, affectionately known as ‘The Destructor’, home. JCBC brands and beers can be found across the province in the LCBO and at numerous restaurants, bars throughout the GTA and products made for our partners are sold and shipped across North America.

About The Role:

Reporting directly to the Brewmaster, you are responsible for executing the daily brewing plan. You will handle raw materials, operate the brewhouse and cellar equipment, monitor fermentations, and ensure absolute consistency, quality, and sanitation. This is a highly physical, technical, and fast-paced role that requires a unique blend of scientific discipline, mechanical aptitude, and a passion for craft beer. You will work closely with the packaging and logistics teams to meet production targets while maintaining safety and quality standards.

This role is permanent and full-time and offers a competitive salary based on experience, company health benefits and team profit sharing

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Operation of brewhouse equipment to brew provided recipes based on weekly brewing plan
  • Perform cellaring duties such as tank cleaning, dry hopping, yeast collection, etc. as needed
  • Strictly follow provided recipes and accurately document lot numbers for all raw materials (malt, hops, yeast, process aids) used in every batch
  • Use internal ERP software to accurately document key process steps and batch metrics
  • Manage and update process records and logs in accordance with GMP, HACCP, and JCBC Food Safety Policy
  • Assist maintenance team with preventive maintenance tasks of brewing and cellaring equipment including pumps, valves, mill equipment, etc.
  • Execute Clean-in-Place (CIP) and manual sanitation protocols according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) to prevent microbial contamination.
  • Safely handle and titrate brewery chemicals, ensuring correct concentrations are verified and logged
  • Maintain and keep current, product knowledge of JCBC and customer products

  • Strong technical aptitude with respect to all aspects of brewing and beverage processing, including dealcolyzation and pasteurization

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years in brewer or equivalent function
  • Secondary degree or diploma in a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Brewing technical qualification an asset
