Overview

We are looking for a professional, organized, and friendly bilingual (French/English) part-time receptionist to join our team and help ensure the smooth running of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the smooth daily functioning of the midwifery clinic, including monitoring client wait times and communicating with midwives as needed
  • Schedule, cancel, and reschedule client appointments efficiently
  • Professionally handle incoming calls and visitors, providing support and accurate information regarding midwifery and office matters
  • Retrieve messages from voicemail and email; direct urgent concerns to midwives promptly
  • Record birth information and communicate lab/ultrasound results to midwives according to established protocols
  • Record and respond appropriately to intake calls from prospective clients
  • Provide information about midwifery services and intake procedures
  • Assist with booking initial appointments for accepted clients
  • Manage daily faxes and emails; organize and file mail, lab results, and hospital documents
  • Manage loaning and returning of library books for clients, maintaining accurate records
  • Coordinate lab specimen hand-off during clinic days
  • Restock supplies in clinical rooms as needed

Qualifications:

  • Fluency in both French and English (spoken and written) is required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Professional, compassionate, and client-focused demeanor
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures or experience in healthcare administration is an asset
  • An understanding of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and midwifery care in Ontario is a strong asset

Schedule:

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday with the possibility of additional hours when needed to cover the office administrator and the possibility of increasing hours in the future

Pay:

  • Starting at $18.00 per hour with the possibility of increase based on qualifications and experience
  • Probationary period of 3 months
