Expert Mobile Communications is a locally owned and operated communications company serving Grande Prairie and clients across Western Canada for over 30 years.

We are looking for an experienced Wireless, Radio & SCADA Communications Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on field position working with two-way radio systems, SCADA/data radios, cellular boosters, repeaters, wireless networks and related communications technology.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, troubleshoot and repair two-way radio systems
  • Install, configure and troubleshoot SCADA/data radio communication systems
  • Install mobile radios and communications equipment in vehicles and equipment
  • Install and service cellular boosters, repeaters, antennas and wireless systems
  • Troubleshoot RF, SCADA and wireless communication issues
  • Install and support antennas, cabling, access points, switches and routers
  • Complete field installations, service calls and preventative maintenance
  • Perform tower and work-at-height duties when required
  • Test equipment, diagnose signal issues and ensure reliable communications
  • Maintain accurate service and installation records
  • Work independently while supporting the broader Expert team

Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years of experience in SCADA, radio communications, wireless communications, telecom or a related technical field
  • Experience with SCADA/data radios and RF communications is a strong asset
  • Two-way radio experience, including Motorola, Kenwood or similar systems, is an asset
  • Experience with cellular boosters, repeaters, antennas and wireless networking is an asset
  • Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable completing field work and working at heights when required
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence with a clean driving record
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

We are looking for someone with strong technical and field experience who takes pride in their work and wants to grow with a well-established local communications company.

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
