Role Overview


Are you passionate about solving complex challenges in the steel industry? As an Ironmaking & Reheat Specialist, you will serve as a key technical expert supporting customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders across Canada. Working closely with Sales, R&D, Operations, and Recycling teams, you will optimize refractory solutions, support innovation, and drive sustainable growth.


What You'll Do

  • Lead and coordinate refractory product trials and evaluations at customer facilities.

  • Partner with customers and commercial teams to optimize refractory performance and troubleshoot challenges.

  • Deliver technical training programs for sales teams and customers.

  • Collaborate with R&D on product development and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Recommend refractory materials and lining designs based on customer requirements.

  • Support Operations, product transfer initiatives, and sustainability goals.

  • Travel extensively throughout Canada to support customers and projects.


What You Bring


  • Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline. Advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in refractories, ironmaking, or related steel industry applications.

  • Strong understanding of refractory technologies and steelmaking processes.

  • Ability to work safely in heavy industrial environments and follow OSHA requirements.

  • Mechanical aptitude and field support experience.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.

  • Advanced Microsoft 365 skills; SAP experience is a plus.
