Location: Lambton Office (In-person)

Duration: 4-Month Contract (September to December, 2026), with potential for extension

Reporting to: CEO and Engineering Manager

Target Candidates: Recent graduates, professionals, or Co-op students

Remuneration: $21/hour for 40 hours per week

Role Overview

Lambton is seeking a tech-savvy, detail-oriented individual to lead a high-impact project organizing our core Engineering Intellectual Property (IP). You will be responsible for building a searchable database that captures decades of drawings, engineering work, and configurations. By indexing our technical assets by project, product, and commodity, you will empower our sales teams to showcase the true depth of Lambton’s engineering capabilities to the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audit & Review: Dive into Lambton’s past engineering projects, designs, and technical applications to understand the scope of our work.
  • IP Organization: Identify and categorize engineering assets so the business can clearly identify and build upon its intellectual property.
  • Knowledge Structuring: Translate varied and complex engineering data into a consistent, clear structure that engineers can easily navigate.
  • Database Development: Create a searchable repository using Microsoft SharePoint to ensure prior designs are easy to find, preventing the need to "start from scratch."
  • Knowledge Capture: Bridge the gap between formal documentation and informal engineering expertise into one unified reference.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Work directly with the CEO to set priorities and ensure the knowledge base is ready for company-wide use by the end of the term.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Tech-Savvy: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint is essential. You must be comfortable setting up libraries, metadata, and search functions.
  • Structural Thinking: Ability to take large amounts of unorganized data and create a logical, intuitive filing and indexing system.
  • Engineering Interest: While a full P.Eng is not required, the candidate must be able to understand technical drawings and engineering terminology (ideal for an Engineering or Tech-Management student/grad).
  • Communication: Strong ability to collaborate with senior leadership and the engineering team to extract and document technical knowledge.
  • Self-Starter: Proven ability to work independently to meet strict project timelines.

Impact

This role is critical for Lambton’s growth. Your work will directly enable our internal and external sales teams to make bolder, evidence-based claims about our IP and engineering history, ensuring our competitive edge in the market.

Lambton Conveyor Limited is an equal opportunity employer. Lambton Conveyor Limited appreciates all applicants for their interest, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted. We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all qualified individuals. Accommodation is available as required under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
