Our success is driven by precision, integrity, and the strength of our people — and we’re looking for an experienced HR Manager to help us grow the next generation of skilled talent.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will oversee all aspects of HR management at CMI, including recruitment, employee relations, policy development, performance management, compliance, and training. Reporting directly to ownership, this individual will play a key role in shaping CMI’s workforce strategy and ensuring a positive, safe, and productive workplace culture across our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for skilled trades, technical, and professional roles.
  • Administer payroll and benefits in collaboration with finance and external providers.
  • Maintain compliance with Ontario labour laws, WSIB, ESA, and health & safety regulations.
  • Develop and update HR policies, procedures, and job descriptions.
  • Manage onboarding and orientation for new hires to ensure successful integration.
  • Support managers and supervisors in handling employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate training and professional development initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR metrics.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention programs to strengthen company culture.
  • Provide strategic HR guidance to management and leadership teams.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment standards and health & safety legislation.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on HR administration with strategic leadership.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office applications.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation (or working toward one) considered an asset.
