Job Overview

Join our Swiss Chalet team as a restaurant server, where your enthusiasm and dedication will create memorable dining experiences for our guests. In this dynamic role, you’ll be the friendly face that welcomes guests, takes their orders, and ensures they enjoy every moment at our establishment. Your excellent customer service skills and attention to detail will help foster a warm, inviting atmosphere that keeps guests coming back. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your hospitality skills while working in a lively, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests promptly with a welcoming attitude and assist them in seating arrangements
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Micros POS, ensuring all special requests are noted
  • Serve food and drinks efficiently while maintaining high standards of food handling and sanitation
  • Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities
  • Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately, including cashiering and processing payments
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables, service stations, and dining areas in accordance with food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery, supporting overall restaurant operations
  • Provide exceptional guest services by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Follow all food safety protocols during food preparation and serving to uphold health regulations

Skills

  • Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with strong knowledge of the food industry
  • Proficiency with POS systems, particularly Micros POS, for order entry and cashiering tasks
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
  • Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and basic math for accurate billing and cash handling
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced hospitality setting
  • Experience in upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue generation
  • Kitchen experience or familiarity with food preparation processes is a plus but not required
