Full job description

The Friends is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Part-Time ILA/PSW (Independent Living Assistant/Personal Support Worker) to join the team in our Supportive Housing program. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to individuals with varying needs, including those with disabilities, seniors, and clients requiring specialized assistance. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life through personalized support and care and willing to work shift work (Days, Evenings and Nights) as well as every other weekend.

Duties:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Support individuals with permanent physical disabilities to remain independent.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the supervisor.
  • Foster a positive relationship with clients, ensuring open communication regarding care plans.

Skills

  • Proven experience in caregiving or related fields such as senior care, hospice care, or community care environments.
  • Strong understanding of working with persons with disabilities and providing patient-centered care.
  • Ability to assist clients with mobility challenges.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills to effectively interact with clients and healthcare professionals.
  • A caring demeanor with a strong commitment to enhancing the well-being of others.
  • must have a reliable vehicle & valid drivers license.
