Please note, this opportunity is an on-site work arrangement, located in Burnaby, BC.
Meaningful work you will be a part of

Your responsibilities will be to:
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to meet quality, pricing and delivery standards.
  • Build and maintain strategic, long-term supplier partnership to secure critical materials and components.
  • Lead sourcing and supplier management activities for Electromechanical (EME) components and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA), ensuring technical alignment, cost competitiveness, and reliable supply continuity.
  • Ensure timely supplier response, implementation and completeness of required quality actions.
  • Act as first line of escalation to the purchasing team for cost, delivery, quality and other supplier relationship management issues.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with production, inventory, and operational goals.
  • Stay up to date on market trends, industry pricing, and new technologies or materials to make informed decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Evaluate supply chain risk to identify risk factors and ensure the risk analysis is maintained up to date.
  • Propose risk mitigation solutions and drive implementation of mitigation activities for identified high risk factors.
  • Negotiate and drive execution and management of supply agreements to ensure necessary pricing, quality, delivery, inventory commitments and other business requirements are met.
  • Proactively update key internal stakeholders on status of new and current critical supply issues.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities including make versus buy decisions, evaluate total cost of ownership, develop cost-benefit analyses models and ensure identified priorities are implemented.
  • Work with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to move in-house processes upstream to the supply base.
  • Ensure timely supplier response, implementation and completeness of required quality actions.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

You will be successful in this role because you possess these attributes:

Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • 7+ of experience working as a Purchasing Agent or similar role.
Requirements & Skills:
  • Proven experience sourcing and managing suppliers for Electromechanical (EME) components and Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA).
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP procurement software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast- paced environment.
  • Experience is highly regulated environments is an asset.
Compensation
Kardium has listed the total cash compensation range (base salary + 5% RRSP contribution) that we expect to pay applicants for this role, as of the time of this posting. Pay offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. For candidates with more or less experience than listed above, the pay range will be adjusted.
As a permanent employee, you will also participate in Kardium’s stock option plan.
  • $80,000 - $100,000 (CAD Annually)
