Full job description

Buzz is hiring SIR-certified Brand Ambassadors to conduct in-store liquor tastings in various locations (Vancouver Island, Fraser Valley, Surrey/Langley, Kamloops). This is a paid contractor role at a flat rate of min. $117 per tasting ($29.25/hour equivalent), with paid travel for some shifts. We have shifts available throughout the Summer and are actively expanding our roster.

We're looking for outgoing, professional individuals with prior promo, hospitality, or sales experience who can confidently represent premium liquor brands in retail liquor stores.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct engaging in-store liquor tastings, sampling product to of-age customers in BC liquor retail locations
  • Represent client brands professionally, communicating product features, tasting notes, and key selling points
  • Set up and break down tasting stations, including product displays, signage, and sampling materials
  • Engage customers in a friendly, knowledgeable manner and answer product questions
  • Verify customer age (19+) before sampling, in accordance with BC liquor regulations and SIR training
  • Track samples poured and complete post-shift reporting as required by the client
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional tasting area throughout the shift
  • Arrive on time, in appropriate attire, and ready to represent the brand

Required Qualifications

  • Current SIR (Serving It Right) certification — applications without SIR will not be considered
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Fluent in English
  • 19 years of age or older
  • Reliable transportation to in-store locations
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable standing for the duration of a 4-hour shift

Preferred

  • Prior experience in liquor sampling, brand ambassador work, hospitality, or retail sales
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, or spirits
  • Confidence engaging strangers in a retail environment
