Position Description


We are recruiting 1 summer student to help with a project in the Transplant and Regenerative Medicine Centre, GIFT (Group for the Improvement of Intestinal Function and Treatment) Program.

The project has a clinical dietetics and nutrition focus and will support the data collection for a study. The student will assist in collecting data on the outcomes of intestinal failure patients, providing evidence to assess the impact of current supplementation strategy and factors that impact micronutrient status in children with intestinal failure, and whether alternative strategy is required or if the present method is appropriate

Here's What You'll Get to Do
  • Abstract data from the electronic patient chart
  • Develop template for data tracking post-implementation of supplementation strategy

Here's What You'll Need
  • Evidence of current enrollment in a post-secondary program in Science, Healthcare, Dietetics, or a related field
  • Availability to work 35 hours/week for 8 to 10 weeks, primarily onsite
  • Interest in clinical research and nutritional studies
  • Experience with patient chart navigation, data extraction
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook 365
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team setting
  • Dependability and good attendance
  • Demonstrated commitment and actions in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion objectives.
