Full job description

Independent Respiratory Services (IRS), a subsidiary of Air Liquide Healthcare Canada, is a BC operated full service respiratory company. We have been providing sleep apnea and home oxygen therapy to British Columbians since 1996. We are committed to providing outstanding respiratory therapy, timely reporting of results and ongoing client care.

Our operations are clinic based with over 35 locations across the province of BC that also facilitate the respiratory therapy needs of people in all areas around these locations.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

IRS is currently recruiting a highly energetic and motivated Summer Student for a 2 months term at our Duncan, BC location. The primary focus of this position is the systematic, high-speed extraction and transfer of sensitive patient data, including demographics, medical histories, and clinical notes from our legacy database into our new system. In this fast-paced environment, you will be responsible for meeting daily targets, organizing digital files, and conducting routine quality assurance checks to ensure absolute data integrity.

  • Accurate Data Entry: Systematically extract, transfer, and input patient data, medical histories, billing information, and clinical notes.
  • Patient Data Management: Handle highly sensitive Protected Health Information (PHI) with strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and internal confidentiality protocols.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine data verification checks to ensure data integrity, identifying and correcting any discrepancies, duplicates, or formatting errors during the transfer process.
  • System Navigation: Seamlessly toggle between multiple software platforms and databases to cross-reference patient information.
  • Progress Tracking: Maintain daily logs of migration progress and report any technical roadblocks or data anomalies to the project supervisor immediately.
  • Filing & Organization: Assist with organizing digital files, scanning documents, and attaching them to the correct patient charts.

  • Fast-Paced Adaptability: Ability to meet daily data-entry quotas and deadlines without sacrificing quality in a high-speed work environment.
