This role includes traveling to customers' location with company car, setting up the play field, preparing and testing equipment, coaching the games, managing team rotations, keeping the event moving on time, and communicating professionally with organizers and/or parents.

This is an event-based role. Hours depend on booked events. The role requires physical setup work, group-leading experience, and the ability to drive to event locations.

  • Run the event flow: welcome players, explain the activity, give clear instructions, manage team rotations, and keep the event moving on time.
  • Coach the games: explain missions, objectives, rules, boundaries, and Base Zone expectations in a clear and confident way.
  • Manage players and safety: keep gameplay non-contact, organized, respectful, and appropriate for kids, teens, adults, and mixed-age groups.
  • Communicate with organizers and/or parents: answer basic questions, give clear updates, and represent GAMEYARD professionally on-site.
  • Pack down after the event: collect equipment, organize gear, load the vehicle, and leave the space clean and professional.
  • Record event details: submit hours, mileage if applicable, incidents, equipment issues, customer feedback, and simple post-event notes.
  • Follow GAMEYARD standards: maintain punctuality, professionalism, child-safe behaviour, venue rules, and company safety procedures at all times.

Experience

  • Experience in leading kids, teens, or groups in camps, sports, recreation, events, coaching, or youth programs is required.
  • Comfortable speaking to groups and giving clear instructions.
  • Strong customer service; friendly, fair, calm, and professional with parents, organizers, and players.
  • Valid Ontario G driver’s licence required; comfortable driving up to 100 km from Milton.
  • Reliable weekend, evening, school-break, and summer availability.
  • Physically able to lift/carry approximately 50 lb and stay active during 2–4+ hour event shifts.
  • Comfortable learning basic event equipment, including taggers, scoring, sound, lights, and field gear.
