Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Front of House Manager/ Event manager to oversee front of the house operations for our banquet hall. We are one of the oldest continuously operating venues in the city. We're tucked away in the green space of the Don Valley just down the road from the Brickworks, and close to Broadview Subway Station. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in the food industry, demonstrating exceptional leadership and customer service skills. This role is crucial for ensuring a seamless event experience for our guests while managing the front-of-house team effectively. At Fantasy Farm we focus primarily on weddings, so a positive attitude and strong organizational skills are important for ensuring our guests have the best days of their lives with us here at Fantasy Farm.

Candidates must be available to work nights and weekends as this is when most of our business happens. Candidates must be reliable and trustworthy as they will be tasked with closing the venue at the end of events. They should also be smart served and have experience running events where alcohol is served.

Duties

  • Supervise the from of the house during events and weddings and ensure that couples and families have a wonderful experience with our venue. After all they've placed their trust in us!
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of the front-of-house staff, ensuring high standards of service and hospitality.
  • Conduct interviews and hire new staff members, fostering a positive work environment.
  • Train and mentor team members on food handling, customer service, and restaurant policies.
  • Collaborate with the set up and maintenance team.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and address any operational challenges.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain inventory levels for front-of-house supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
  • Close the venue after events and make sure all staff are out safely.

Skills

  • Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role within the food industry.
  • Strong supervisory skills with experience in team management and leadership.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on creating positive event management experiences.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
