Full job description

The Materials Handler is responsible assembling job materials, maintaining high levels of completeness and accuracy. In doing this, and other related material and administrative tasks, the Materials Handler plays a critical part in providing a seamless flow of needed parts and supplies to the factory floor.

Key Responsibility Areas

Job Materials Assembly:

  • Picks and assembles materials and parts for specific Job Orders and delivers them to the assembly process
  • Issues materials to the appropriate job, labels large components and ensures they are delivered to production
  • Returns surplus materials to storage areaAdministrative Functions:
  • Records parts issued to jobs and material returns to maintain accurate internal record-keeping for both job-costing and inventory systems

Equipment Operation:

  • Operates various equipment which may include hand truck, forklift, or other materials movement equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods
  • Projects / Other Assignments:
  • Assists in purchasing as assigned
  • Performs cycle counts and assists in the inventory process
  • Works on related projects or initiatives as assigned

Qualifications:

Education

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • Related materials management experience in a warehouse setting
  • Inventory control
