About Precise Pipe

Precise Pipe manufactures and distributes seamless and welded carbon steel pipe with an obsession for customer satisfaction, exceptional quality, rapid supply, and tailored solutions.

With over 60 years of expertise, we are a North American leader in steel pipe solutions, supported by our own mills and a global inventory network. Our North American operations serve upstream and downstream oil and gas markets with OCTG, transmission, tailings, and facility line pipes, along with low-alloy pipes and pipe derivative products. Beyond energy, our non-oil and gas divisions focus on galvanized products and OEM parts.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated Junior Business Development professional with around two years of sales experience and a clear interest in building a long-term career in B2B sales. Experience from another industry is welcome; direct pipe, oil & gas or industrial product experience is an asset, but not required.

This is a hands-on development role with the opportunity to work closely with the VP of Business Development and receive guidance from senior BD professionals. Our technical and inside teams provide strong product and quotation support, allowing you to focus on customer outreach, relationship building and developing new business across our full product line.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business through cold calls, emails, LinkedIn, networking, referrals and customer visits.
  • Identify and research prospective customers across industrial, OEM, oil & gas, power/utilities, manufacturing and related markets.
  • Represent the Company’s full product portfolio and identify opportunities based on customer needs.
  • Build and manage a sales pipeline through consistent outreach and follow-up.
  • Develop relationships with new and existing customers and coordinate next steps with internal teams.
  • Support quotations, proposals, meeting preparation, customer follow-ups and opportunity tracking.
  • Maintain accurate CRM and sales activity records.
  • Work with the VP of Business Development on customer meetings, visits and other BD activities.
  • · Drive to and from customer meetings as required, including driving in support of the VP during customer visits.

What We Are Looking For

  • Around 2 years of sales, business development or other relevant customer-facing sales experience preferred.
  • Comfortable making cold calls, approaching new prospects and actively creating opportunities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a natural ability to build rapport.
  • Proactive, persistent and disciplined with follow-ups.
  • Willing and able to learn technical products, applications and new markets.
  • A clear career goal in sales or business development and the motivation to grow with the role.
  • Organized, responsive and comfortable working with technical and inside teams.
  • Valid driver's licence and acceptable driving record; comfortable driving for customer visits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience is an asset.
  • Able to work full-time in person from our Calgary office.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: CA$55,000-$65,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Performance Bonus / Commission: Available based on results.
  • Benefits: Full company benefits effective from the start of employment.
