SPA ATTENDANT TEAM LEAD

Internal Title is > Facility Operations Lead

Target Start Date: June 2026

We’re looking to welcome the right candidate to our team in early June 2026, with training taking place in person at our Avenida location ahead of our West Calgary opening anticipated for the end of June.

This is a hands-on Facility Operations Lead position within a single-location wellness spa environment. This position focuses on supporting the day-to-day operations, facility standards, and guest experience within one boutique spa location.

If you’re excited about this opportunity but have questions about timing or scheduling, we’re happy to discuss further during the interview process.

Company Overview

Cedar & Steam is a boutique wellness spa integrating sauna, steam, massage, and cold plunge into daily life. We are committed to creating thoughtfully designed spaces that foster relaxation, connection, and rejuvenation.

Behind every exceptional guest experience is an exceptional facility.

We are seeking a hands-on, operationally driven leader who takes pride in cleanliness, preventative maintenance, safety standards, and building systems that protect the guest experience.

*Must have open availability to work mornings starting at 7 am, evenings until 11 pm, weekends and holidays.

Role Overview

The Facility Operations Lead role is facility-focused and responsible for overseeing the daily operational readiness of Cedar & Steam to ensure a safe, clean, and fully functional environment that supports exceptional guest experiences. This is a hands-on leadership position that emphasizes five-star standards through structured cleaning systems, preventative maintenance, and strong health & safety practices.

As the Facility Operations Lead, you will lead by example - setting the standard for cleanliness, organization, accountability, and operational discipline. You will take ownership of the condition and performance of all guest-facing and back-of-house areas, including saunas, steam rooms, cold plunge, treatment rooms, and mechanical spaces.

Working alongside the Spa Manager and Guest Experience Lead, you will proactively identify risks, troubleshoot issues, implement preventative systems, and ensure the facility remains pristine, compliant, and fully operational at all times.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance:Ensure the facility maintains exceptional cleanliness, organization, and operational functionality, delivering a consistent five-star environment. Lead structured deep cleaning efforts, conduct daily walk-through inspections, monitor equipment performance, and maintain clear communication with the Leadership team to ensure a safe and fully operational spa.

Preventative Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Execute preventative maintenance schedules for saunas, steam rooms, cold plunge systems, HVAC, plumbing, and guest amenities. Perform routine operational checks, proactively identify potential issues, complete minor repairs, and escalate larger concerns appropriately to prevent downtime and protect the guest experience.

Supplies & Inventory Management: Maintain adequate stock levels of cleaning supplies, linens, robes, tools, sanitation equipment, and operational parts. Monitor usage trends, manage par levels, and reorder proactively to ensure uninterrupted operations and cost efficiency.

Staff Training and Development: Motivate and coach the team to prioritize facility upkeep, structured cleaning routines, and operational discipline. Train and mentor staff to uphold cleanliness, safety, and maintenance standards while fostering shared accountability.

Leadership and Team Collaboration: Lead and support the team in maintaining strong facility standards and operational workflows. Provide clear task delegation, coaching, and performance feedback. Maintain open communication with the Spa Leadership team to ensure alignment and continuous operational improvement.

Health and Safety: Promote and enforce a culture of health and safety by modeling best practices. Lead safety initiatives, conduct hazard assessments, ensure compliance with OHS, WCB, AHS, and internal standards, and maintain accurate documentation and logs to support regulatory compliance.

Guest Experience Support: While operationally focused, ensure the environment consistently aligns with Cedar & Steam’s core values. Maintain an elevated, welcoming, and safe atmosphere that directly supports the guest experience. Address facility-related concerns promptly and professionally to prevent service disruptions.

Administrative Duties: Maintain maintenance logs, cleaning schedules, safety documentation, and inventory records. Utilize operational tools and reporting systems to track facility performance, equipment servicing, and compliance metrics.
