Full job description
Pre-Booked Appointments | No Cold Calling
Pre-booked in-home appointments. No cold calling. No door-to-door prospecting. Average project value: approximately $24,000.
We are looking for competitive, coachable, and money-motivated salespeople who want to build a serious career in high-ticket, in-home sales.
As a Home Energy Advisor, you will meet with homeowners at scheduled appointments, assess their comfort and energy needs, explain suitable options, and guide qualified customers through the purchase and financing process.
No HVAC experience is required. We provide product training, sales training, financing and paperwork training, four days of in-field shadowing, and ongoing coaching.
This is a full-time, field-based, 100% commission opportunity. It must become your primary professional commitment.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Pre-booked homeowner appointments provided
- No cold calling or door-to-door prospecting
- Average project value of approximately $24,000
- Uncapped, performance-based earning potential
- Structured sales and product training
- Four-day in-field shadowing program
- Financing, incentive, and paperwork training
- Ongoing coaching and management support
- Travel allowance based on activity requirements
- Monthly and quarterly bonus opportunities for top performers
- Advancement opportunities based on performance and leadership potential
What You’ll Be Selling
You will be trained to present whole-home comfort, energy, air-quality, and water solutions, including:
- Furnaces
- Heat pumps
- Air conditioners
- Tankless water heaters
- Indoor air-quality products
- Filtration and purification systems
- Water-treatment solutions
- Smart battery-storage systems
- Attic insulation and other home-efficiency upgrades
Your role is to help each homeowner choose the right solution for their home, budget, comfort needs, and long-term priorities.
What You’ll Do
- Attend pre-booked homeowner appointments throughout your assigned territory
- Conduct a basic assessment of the homeowner’s existing equipment, concerns, and comfort needs
- Explain available solutions clearly and professionally
- Present pricing, financing, warranties, installation timelines, and applicable incentives
- Build trust and handle questions or objections with confidence
- Guide qualified customers through the purchase and financing process
- Complete required paperwork accurately
- Update CRM notes promptly after every appointment
- Follow up with homeowners when required
- Follow the company’s sales, pricing, financing, paperwork, and compliance processes
- Represent the company with professionalism and integrity
Who We’re Looking For
You do not need HVAC experience, but you do need the right mindset and work ethic.
Strong candidates are:
- Competitive and motivated by performance-based income
- Coachable and willing to follow a proven sales process
- Confident speaking with homeowners face-to-face
- Reliable, punctual, and organized
- Professional in appearance and communication
- Comfortable working independently in the field
- Able to handle rejection, cancellations, and variable results without losing momentum
- Willing to practise, roleplay, review performance, and accept direct coaching
- Available for evening appointments and Saturdays
- Comfortable driving to qualified appointments across Southern Ontario
Preferred Experience
Experience in any commission-based or customer-facing sales environment is an asset, including:
- Door-to-door sales
- Automotive sales
- Telecom sales
- Home-services sales
- HVAC, roofing, windows, solar, alarms, pest control, or renovations
- Water-treatment sales
- Real estate or mortgage sales
- Fitness or membership sales
Sales experience is preferred, but we will consider highly competitive and coachable candidates who can demonstrate discipline, communication skills, and a record of strong performance in another field.
Compensation
This is a 100% commission-based independent-contractor position with no base salary, benefits, or guaranteed income.
- Average project value: approximately $24,000
- Tiered commission structure tied to project profitability and eligible funded revenue
- Expected full-time annual earnings: approximately $80,000–$130,000
- Top performers may exceed $200,000 annually
- Monthly and quarterly performance bonuses may be available
A representative averaging four completed and funded projects per month may reach an annual earnings pace of approximately $80,000 or more, depending on commission tier, project profitability, eligible revenue, cancellations, and consistency.
These figures are examples, not guarantees. Commission is earned on eligible funded business—not simply on written contracts.
The complete commission schedule, payment timing, cancellation policy, chargeback terms, and travel-allowance calculation will be reviewed during the interview process and before onboarding.
Schedule and Territory
- Full-time, field-based role
- Appointments are scheduled around homeowner availability
- Regular evening availability is required
- Saturday availability is required
- Multiple appointments may be scheduled in one day
- Expect approximately 100–200 km of driving on appointment days
- You must be prepared to drive one to two hours for qualified appointments when required
- Primary service areas include the GTA, Hamilton, Kitchener–Waterloo, Niagara, Peterborough and surrounding Southern Ontario communities
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence
- Reliable personal vehicle
- Located in Southern Ontario
- Strong spoken English for in-home presentations
- Comfortable with 100% commission-based compensation and variable weekly income
- Able to complete mandatory initial training and four days of field shadowing
- Able to maintain full appointment availability throughout the week, including evenings and Saturdays
- Willing to work as an independent contractor and invoice for commissions without source deductions or employee benefits
- Willing to make this your only sales role and primary professional commitment
What Success Actually Requires
This opportunity offers strong income potential, but results are earned.
Some appointments will cancel. Some homeowners will not qualify for financing. Some appointments will require a long drive and will not produce a sale. Weekly income will vary.
Successful representatives stay consistent through difficult weeks. They arrive prepared, follow the process, practise their presentation, review their numbers, accept coaching, follow up properly, and continue improving.
Appointments are allocated based on training completion, availability, punctuality, CRM compliance, professionalism, customer feedback, and sales performance. Representatives must maintain consistent availability and cannot accept only occasional or convenient appointments.
This opportunity is intended for someone building a serious career in high-ticket sales. It is not a part-time role, side hustle, source of occasional leads, or second sales position alongside another company.
Candidates currently selling for another HVAC, renovation, solar, water-treatment, roofing, windows, security, or competing home-services company must be prepared to leave that position before onboarding.
Interview Process
Candidates should be prepared to:
- Explain their personal sales results separately from team or company results
- Discuss their average performance—not only their best month
- Complete a live objection-handling roleplay
- Explain why they are leaving their current position
- Confirm their ability to commit fully to the role
- Provide professional references when requested
Before You Apply
Submit your resume and answer every application question carefully and completely. Missing, generic, or one-word answers may not be considered.
Apply only if you are ready to treat this as your primary full-time career, complete the required training, maintain consistent field availability, and be paid entirely based on performance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
