Overview

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Youth Workers to join our team. This role involves engaging with youth and supporting their development and well-being. The Youth Worker will create a positive, inclusive environment that fosters growth, learning, and social interaction. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of the youth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging activities tailored to the needs of the youth.
  • Provide one-on-one support and mentorship to foster confidence and social skills
  • Assist in planning and facilitating educational and recreational programs
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment
  • Monitor and document participant progress and behavior, reporting any concerns to supervisors
  • Promote positive behavior management strategies and conflict resolution techniques
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity spaces

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children or individuals with specific needs.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect effectively with youth from diverse backgrounds.
  • Compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to working with young people
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Reliable, responsible, and committed to creating a supportive environment for youth
  • Must be at least 25 years old or older
  • Must have a valid class 5 drivers license and access to a vehicle.
  • Must clear a HUB application. (criminal record check to work with children and youth in BC)

This role is vital in supporting the growth and development of a young individual through engaging activities and dedicated mentorship. We value applicants who are passionate about making a positive impact in their community.

Pay: $25.50-$27.00 per hour
