Position Summary

The Executive Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Carmichael Outreach Inc., reporting directly to the Board of Directors. This role is responsible for advancing the organization's mission through strategic leadership of its people, programs, operations, and community partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

The Executive Director works collaboratively with the Board, staff, community partners, and donors to support a shared vision of an open, welcoming organization that serves people experiencing poverty, homelessness, and barriers to employment. This position helps ensure the organization remains a strong voice for equity, justice, and community impact. The Executive Director will champion Carmichael Outreach's mission while building meaningful relationships with staff, guests, community partners, funders, and the broader Regina community.

  • Provide leadership and direction across financial, administrative, program, and service functions.
  • Oversee the organization's financial sustainability through responsible budgeting, financial stewardship, and support for funding and resource development initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Board of Directors to support organizational goals and accountability.
  • Lead, mentor, and support staff while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and mission-driven workplace culture.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, community partners, and donors.
  • Represent Carmichael Outreach publicly through community engagement, relationship-building, advocacy, and media opportunities.
  • Ensure services and operations align with the organization's values and strategic priorities.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as community economic development, business administration, justice studies, or social work.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, community development, and affordable housing. Understanding of poverty, homelessness, barriers to employment, racism, and reconciliation.
  • Understanding of mental health, addictions, and trauma-informed, compassionate care is highly valued. Candidates who do not have direct experience in these areas should demonstrate a genuine commitment to learning and an ability to lead with empathy, respect, and compassion.
  • Management experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfort with public speaking and representing Carmichael Outreach in meetings, presentations, media interviews, and community events.

Work Conditions

  • Permanent full-time position.
  • Approximately 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Work schedule may vary based on organizational needs.
