Position Summary

Forged Drilling is a leader in innovative drilling solutions across North America, with a strong commitment to service excellence and client relationships. We are recruiting for a Business Systems & Integration Manager to help design, standardize, implement, and sustain business processes and systems across the organization.

The Business Systems & Integration Manager will be accountable for taking approved processes from design through rollout, adoption, measurement, and continuous improvement. The long-term objective is to build a scalable operating system that allows the organization to grow organically, and through acquisition, while maintaining consistency, accountability, operational excellence, and real-time visibility into business performance.

This position will initially focus on understanding and improving value streams across all departments, identifying operational bottlenecks, and working with department leaders to define how the business should operate. Once the desired operating model is established, this role will help select, configure, and implement the systems, including ERP tools, needed to support it. Business requirements should drive system design, not the other way around.

This position reports directly to the CEO (or their designate) and works closely with Operations, Finance, HR, Safety, Fleet, Business Development, and all acquired business leadership teams.

The ideal candidate is a practical operator and process leader with experience implementing systems and process changes in real operational businesses. They combine strong operational experience, process improvement expertise, project management skills, and the ability to get people using and sustaining new ways of working.

If this sounds like you, we’d love to see you apply!

Key Responsibilities

Business Process Design & Improvement

  • Lead company-wide value stream mapping and process improvement initiatives.
  • Document current-state workflows and identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, duplication, and waste.
  • Work with department leaders and front-line users to design future-state processes that improve efficiency, accountability, and scalability.
  • Document approved processes, SOPs, roles, handoffs, controls, and required system support.
  • Define clear process ownership and responsibilities as part of each process design.
  • Facilitate cross-functional workshops to align departments and improve handoffs.

Process Implementation & Adoption

  • Take approved processes from design through rollout, implementation, and sustained adoption.
  • Develop implementation plans that define responsibilities, timelines, training, communication, and required system changes.
  • Coordinate the training, tools, procedures, and support required for successful rollout.
  • Work directly with department leaders and end users to remove implementation barriers and reinforce adoption.
  • Monitor adoption metrics and verify that processes are being used consistently in day-to-day operations.
  • Lead follow-up reviews and corrective actions until the new process is functioning as intended.

Process Governance & Accountability

  • Establish a practical process governance framework across the organization.
  • Ensure each core process has a clearly identified department owner who remains accountable for the process and its results.
  • Define KPIs, controls, review cadence, and standards that show whether each process is working as intended.
  • Establish a consistent method for approving, documenting, communicating, and implementing process changes.
  • Facilitate periodic process reviews with department leaders and support updates when performance or business needs change.
  • Support department leaders with process design, implementation, systems, and governance without replacing their ownership or accountability.

Business Systems & ERP Implementation

  • Translate approved business processes and operational requirements into system requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend ERP and other business systems based on the organization's operating model and operational needs.
  • Lead the internal business side of system implementation, including configuration, testing, data migration, deployment, and integration.
  • Manage implementation timelines, budgets, vendors, and resources.
  • Ensure systems support approved operational workflows, reporting, payroll, project management, purchasing, inventory, maintenance, and finance requirements.
  • Drive user adoption, training, reporting, and ongoing system optimization after implementation.

Mergers & Acquisitions Integration

  • Develop a repeatable integration framework for newly acquired businesses.
  • Assess existing processes, systems, organizational structures, and reporting practices within acquired companies.
  • Lead integration of acquired companies into the organization's operating model and appropriate business systems.
  • Standardize reporting, workflows, KPIs, and management systems across acquired entities.
  • Support process implementation, adoption, and operational improvement initiatives across acquired businesses.
  • Identify synergies and opportunities to improve efficiency across the combined organization.

Location and Work Arrangement

The successful candidate will be expected to work at our office in Regina/Pilot Butte, Saskatchewan. Support will be provided for relocation, if required. After the onboarding and probation period is completed, a hybrid work arrangement is available.

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in sales, business development, account management, commercial leadership, or related technical service roles.
  • Hands-on experience implementing operational processes, systems, or business improvements in a real operational environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to take process or system changes from design through rollout, user adoption, and sustained use.
  • Strong project management and change management skills.
  • Experience mapping, redesigning, documenting, and governing business processes.
  • Experience working with business systems and participating in or leading ERP or enterprise system implementations from the operational or business side.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively from the front line through executive leadership.

Preferred Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

  • Experience in construction, drilling, industrial services, manufacturing, mining, or field service businesses.
  • Practical experience implementing an ERP or enterprise business system within an operating company.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions integration.
  • Agile, Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or similar certifications.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Vista, Acumatica, or similar systems.
