The Granite Club is looking for a casual Banquet Server who will be responsible to assist in creating a special event that our members and their guests will remember. As a Banquet Server they will provide the highest level of customer service to our members and their guests. Beverages and food items will be provided in a timely and courteous manner. The position also entails the maintenance and enhancement of the Granite Gold level of service necessary to properly represent the Granite Club, providing creative and innovative quality programs to Members’ children.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain a commitment to customer service and guest satisfaction. Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner
• Properly serve the guest food and beverage in a timely, professional manner
• Ensure that the food and beverage is the proper temperature with consistent presentation
• Must be able to lift and carry 30 pounds
• Work as a team with coworkers as well as other departments
• Assist in food, beverage, equipment, meeting supplies, china, glass, and silverware inventories on a predetermined basis
• Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees (including other departments)
• Enforce all sanitation procedures including safety guidelines
• Organizing equipment for a function as well as cleaning, maintaining, and looking after equipment during and after functions
• Make sure all storerooms are clean, organized and secured
• Immediate communication of special requests made by guests to the manger, assistant manager or banquet captain and communicating guest problems or concerns
• Follow all designated opening and closing procedures to ensure areas are secure and energy efficient
• Adhere to all department and Club wide policies and procedures
• Ensure the proper handling and cleaning of all equipment, china, glass, and silver
• Perform any reasonable request assigned by management for the Club’s staffing and performance needs
• Attend staff meeting as required
• Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum Grade 12 Education, 1 years related work experience and Smart Serve Certification.
• Good communication skills with a Good working knowledge of written and spoken English.
• Well groomed, mannerly, co-operative and outwardly friendly (team oriented).
• Ability to work under periods of extreme pressure.
• Able to work split shifts - days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Good organisational skills.
• Knowledge of P.O.S System, Northstar or equivalent is an asset.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Flexible to work variable shifts; evenings, weekends and holidays

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position is $24.28 per hour.
