Job Summary

As the Restaurant Manager, you will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional guest service, food quality, team performance, and financial accountability. You will lead both front-of-house and back-of-house operations while creating a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and growth.

Key Responsibilities Daily Operations

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily restaurant operations.
  • Ensure smooth execution of service during busy lunch and dinner periods.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and customer service.

Team Leadership

  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members.
  • Create weekly staff schedules and manage labor costs effectively.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback.
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

Inventory & Supply Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders as required.
  • Manage food and supply costs while minimizing waste.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure consistent product availability.

Financial Management

  • Oversee daily cash handling and POS reconciliation.
  • Monitor sales performance and key operational metrics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Guest Experience

  • Ensure every guest receives outstanding service.
  • Address customer concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Build strong relationships within the local Sarnia community.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all provincial health, food safety, and workplace safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe restaurant environment.

Qualifications Required

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of management or supervisory experience in hospitality, food service, retail, or restaurant operations.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience with scheduling, inventory management, and cost control.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, Microsoft Office, and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience managing a quick-service or fast-casual restaurant.
  • Food Handler Certification.
  • Knowledge of healthy food, fresh ingredients, and customer-focused service.
