Sales Leader – Sucker Rod (Only apply if Specialized)

Leading Sucker Rod Manufacturer – Canadian Market

About Precise Pipe
Precise Pipe manufactures and distributes seamless and welded carbon steel pipe with an obsession for customer satisfaction, exceptional quality, rapid supply, and tailored solutions.
With over 60 years of expertise, we are a North American leader in steel pipe solutions, supported by our own mills, and a global inventory network. Our North American operations serve upstream and downstream oil and gas markets with OCTG, transmission, tailings, and facility line pipes, along with low-alloy pipes and pipe derivative products such as frac sleeves, perforating guns, and setting tools.
Beyond energy, our non-oil and gas divisions focus on galvanized products and OEM parts.

Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and high-performing Sales Leader to drive revenue growth and market leadership for one of Canada's top manufacturers of premium sucker rods and related artificial lift components. Our products include high-strength steel sucker rods (API grades, fiberglass options, pony rods, couplings, and specialized coatings) engineered for reciprocating rod lift systems in conventional, deviated, and challenging wells.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will lead the sales organization, craft aggressive growth strategies, mentor a results-oriented team, and forge executive-level partnerships with oil & gas operators, service companies, artificial lift providers, rod service firms, and procurement teams across Canada's key basins (Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, oil sands, heavy oil regions, and beyond).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a national sales strategy to achieve/exceed revenue goals, increase market share, and maximize profitability in Canada's oil & gas production sector.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing sales team (regional managers, account executives), including performance management, goal alignment, and professional development.
  • Cultivate and expand strategic relationships with major operators, rod pumping specialists, well service companies, and distributors through executive engagement, field visits, technical seminars, and industry events.
  • Manage the full sales pipeline, deliver accurate forecasting, utilize CRM systems, and provide insightful reporting to executive leadership.
  • Stay ahead of market trends, competitor offerings (e.g., rod grades, fatigue resistance, corrosion solutions), pricing, and regulatory shifts to optimize product positioning and capture opportunities.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, technical support, and supply chain teams to provide customized rod string designs, failure analysis support, and seamless quote-to-delivery execution.
  • Travel as needed (moderate to extensive) for client meetings, field site visits, trade shows (e.g., SPE events, oilfield expos), and team leadership across Canada.

Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of progressive sales experience in the oil & gas industry, with 4+ years in leadership (e.g., National/Regional Sales Manager, Director of Sales) focused on artificial lift, sucker rods, rod strings, or related downhole equipment.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth in Canadian oil & gas markets, particularly in beam pump/reciprocating lift applications.
  • In-depth technical expertise in sucker rods (API specifications, grades like D, K, KD, HL; fiberglass rods; couplings, pony rods; rod string design, fatigue/corrosion management, well conditions).
  • Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with a consultative, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated success in team management, pipeline oversight, forecasting, and CRM proficiency.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Based in a key Canadian energy hub (e.g., Alberta – Calgary or Edmonton preferred) with flexibility for national travel.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $80,000–$1,25,000, depending on experience.
  • Performance Bonus / Commission: Available based on results.
  • Fully benefit upon inception.

Personal Attributes

  • Adaptive and communicative across different market sectors and customer types.

  • Professional, dependable, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
