Full job description
Quark Expeditions is the leading polar expedition travel company headquartered in Toronto, Canada. We operate cruises to Antarctica and Arctic regions (Greenland, North Canada, Svalbard) on board of 3 modern polar expedition ships – Ultramarine, Ocean Explorer, and World Explorer. Since 1991, Quark has been establishing a tradition of firsts in polar travel: as the first to transit the Northeast Passage with adventure travellers; the first to take travellers to the far side of Antarctica; and the first to circumnavigate the Antarctic continent with guests. Quark Expeditions is part of Travelopia, the world’s leading experiential travel business, owned by KKR.
We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Product Development to join our team. Reporting to the VP of Product & Planning, you’ll lead the development and launch of innovative polar travel products across our fleet, destinations, and guest experiences.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to shape product strategy, using insights, data, and market trends to ensure our offerings remain differentiated and commercially successful. This role plays a key part in bringing new experiences to market and continuously evolving our product portfolio.
What we’ll offer:
- Competitive base salary ($80,000 to $120,000 CAD) and bonus scheme (5% to 10%)
- Comprehensive health benefits
- Retirement savings plan with company contributions
- Generous paid time off allowance and birthday day off
- Flexible hybrid working schedules
- Parental leave and family-supportive policies
- Charity or volunteering time off
- Group-wide travel discounts
What you’ll do
- Lead end-to-end product development and launch activities across fleet, destinations, and guest experiences
- Build and evolve a clear product strategy informed by data, market trends, and customer insights
- Partner with Commercial, Sales, Marketing, and Operations to deliver cohesive and competitive products
- Define and improve product development processes to support efficient planning and on-time launches
- Drive seasonal planning and sailing schedule reviews to ensure timely delivery to market
- Enhance onboard and off-ship experiences, including expedition activities, aviation offerings, and guest services
- Identify new destination opportunities and expand product offerings aligned with brand strategy
- Develop strong internal and external partnerships to support innovation and execution
- Lead and support a high-performing team, setting clear objectives and enabling growth
- Oversee procurement processes and ensure strong commercial and contractual outcomes
- Use data and insights to guide decision-making and continuously improve product performance
What you’ll bring
- Experience leading product strategy and development in a complex, fast-paced environment
- Strong track record of delivering results through structured planning and clear processes
- Experience working cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders
- Background in the travel or experiential services industry
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
- Experience with procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiation
- Commercial awareness, including financial planning, cost analysis, and margin optimization
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships
- Ability to prioritize effectively and adapt in a dynamic environment
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
- Interest in travel, adventure, or the outdoors
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and willingness to adopt new workplace technologies
Nice to have
- Knowledge of polar regions or expedition travel
- Existing network within the expedition or adventure travel industry
