Job Description

Charger Logistics Inc. is a leading transportation and logistics provider operating across North America. We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst - Logistics to support and enhance the internal information systems that serve logistics operations, dispatch, fleet management, and corporate functions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing business systems, designing and implementing information systems solutions, and providing ongoing advice and support to ensure Charger's logistics and transportation platforms operate reliably and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Confer with dispatch, operations, safety, and finance teams to identify and document requirements for Charger's logistics systems (TMS, telematics/ELD, billing).
  • Analyze data flows and processes within Charger's TMS to identify inefficiencies and propose solutions that improve load-matching, dispatch efficiency, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and implement business intelligence solutions, including dashboards, reports, and data models, that consolidate freight, trailer, and driver data.
  • Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses for proposed system upgrades, including TMS expansions, EDI integration, and cross-border billing tools.
  • Provide advice on information systems strategy, policy, security, and service delivery for Charger's logistics platforms, including data-handling considerations for cross-border operations.
  • Act as a liaison between the IT department, dispatch, operations, and support teams to translate business needs into functional system requirements.
  • Conduct tests to ensure the reliability, accuracy, and functionality of system changes and enhancements prior to deployment across fleet operations.
  • Monitor driver safety, delivery-timeline, and fleet-maintenance data captured in company systems to support internal compliance reporting and process improvement.

Requirements:

Education and Experience Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience in a business intelligence, systems analysis, or related information systems role is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze business systems and translate operational requirements into functional technical solutions is required.

Required Skills and Technical Knowledge

  • Business intelligence and data analysis: proficiency in SQL, MS SQL Server, and data analysis software, plus advanced Excel (VBA, pivot tables, complex formulas)
  • Microsoft Visio and mapping/data visualization software for process mapping and systems documentation
  • Database software and spreadsheet tools for data modeling, reporting, and analysis
  • Requirements gathering and documentation for system implementations and enhancements
  • Business process management and business methods analysis
  • Quality assurance practices for software products and information systems
  • Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS), dispatch platforms, and fleet/telematics data, or the ability to quickly learn Charger's internal systems
