Pipe Layer Assistant

Job Description

ghn Infrastructure Inc. is a growing earthmoving and site servicing contractor in the London and surrounding areas. We are currently seeking a pipe layer, the candidate needs to be an experienced and motivated individual that assembles, connects, and installs various types of pipe for sewers (storm and sanitary) and watermains. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in the installation and reconstruction of watermain and sewer pipe systems in urban and rural settings.

Responsibilities

  • Install various types of pipe (HDPE, PVC, RCP, etc.) including cutting, beveling and connections
  • Install precast concrete structures and watermain appurtenances
  • Setup and operate pipe laser to ensure proper grade of sewers for conformance to contract drawings
  • Work as a team member of the sewer crew in daily construction activities
  • Other general labour duties as required
  • Attention to detail

Requirements

  • Mainline pipe installation
  • Water and sewer service installations
  • Minimum 1 years experience
  • Must be able to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (in excess of 50 lbs)
  • Ability to competently follow instructions from supervisory staff
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisory staff
  • Ability to travel to job sites in London and surrounding areas
  • Always adhere to health and safety policy
