Registered Practical Nurse - Full time - 30-40 hours/week depending on staffing levels.

Karim Dharssi Medical Professional Corporation

KDMPC is a team-based Primary Care Medical Practice with an innovative office flow and dynamic interdisciplinary health care team. Dr. Dharssi utilizes a team of professionals including 6 RPNs in order to provide care to his large roster of patients.

We are looking for an RPN able to function to full scope as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Duties include performing histories and assessments for patient visits, maintaining up to date health records; reviewing labs & reports, answering patient questions and providing a variety of health care teaching; delivery of medications i.e. performing immunizations and injections as needed. Duties may include room changeover, stocking of rooms and clinical areas, cleaning and sterilizing of instruments.

Qualifications

  • Current RPN registration in good standing with College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Experience working in an outpatient clinic or Primary Care Physician’s office preferred
  • Education and experience in health care across age groups an asset;
  • Excellent physical assessment skills
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management and customer focused skills;
  • Sound judgement, high-level organizational skills with proven experience with multi-tasking and prioritization
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with an inter-disciplinary team
  • Must be adaptable to change and committed to quality improvement initiatives
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification preferred;
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and technology
  • Experience with EMR systems - preferably Telus PS Suite
  • Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS).
  • Member of RPNAO preferred and cost is reimbursed

A typical 5-day week would offer Wednesday off from clinical duties.
