Dishwasher / Service Support (Seasonal)

Pay Rate: $17.60 per hour
Season: Until November 2026

The Port Hope Golf & Country Club winds through the historic grounds of Penryn Park on the bluffs of Lake Ontario, offering a scenic and challenging 18-hole course. As a premier golf destination, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional service to our members and guests, including a high-quality kitchen and dining experience.

We are currently seeking dependable and hardworking Dishwashers / Service Support staff to join our team for the 2026 season.

Reporting to the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Front of House Manager, and General Manager, this role is essential to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen and supporting both back- and front-of-house operations.

About the Role

Dishwashers / Service Support staff play a vital role in keeping the kitchen and service areas clean, organized, and running efficiently. You will assist the kitchen and service teams during prep, peak service, and closing, ensuring all dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen areas meet safety and sanitation standards.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen & Dish Area Support

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently
• Operate dishwasher and hand-wash items as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of dish area, floors, and staff entrances
• Assist with basic kitchen tasks such as food prep, peeling, or portioning when required
• Ensure proper handling and storage of clean dishes and equipment
• Take out garbage, empty bottles, and cardboard

Service Support

• Bus tables and assist front-of-house staff with clearing tables as needed
• Support both kitchen and service teams during peak service times
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen and dining environment

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
• Be familiar with WHMIS and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
• Comply with all policies, procedures, and safety practices

Teamwork & Professionalism

• Demonstrate a strong work ethic and attention to cleanliness
• Communicate respectfully and effectively with both front-of-house and back-of-house teams
• Maintain a positive attitude, reliability, and punctuality

Experience & Qualifications

• No previous experience required; training will be provided
• Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is an asset
• High School Diploma required
• Ability to follow both oral and written instructions in English; must be fluent in English
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Team-oriented, dependable, and flexible

• Chef pants or scrub pants
