Are you an enthusiastic, upbeat, and hardworking person who has a passion for cooking? Are you looking to join an energetic team of hospitality driven professionals and craft beer geeks? If you’ve answered, ‘yes’, to both of these questions then you’re reading the right ad!

The Charlotteville Brewing Company is a family owned and operated on-farm brewery. We are looking for a part time cook to work in the kitchen Thursday to Sunday. We're a small team that values creativity, sharing knowledge, and bringing the best out in each other in a fun and friendly work environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure food preparation specifications are met, while executing appropriate food handling protocols
  • Prepare and serve freshly made food items/dishes on a daily basis
  • Maintain the quality of each dish while ensuring a speedy output
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
  • Close the kitchen and set up the next day for success
  • Conduct inventory counts and organize supplies with accuracy

Experience & Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years previous experience (required)
  • In-depth knowledge of food handling, preparation, and cooking methods (specifically: preserving, curing, fermenting, baking)
  • Excellent knife and plating skills
  • Graduate from a recognized college, preferably with Red Seal certification
  • Food handlers certificate (required)
  • Smart Serve (preferred)

Work Conditions/Physical Capabilities

  • Impeccable attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to stand or walk for extended periods of time, as well as bend, stretch and lift up to 50lbs (25kg)

Personal Suitability

  • Self-directed and team-oriented, with strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral/written communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills
  • Displays an energetic and positive attitude with a good work ethic

Transportation Information

  • Driver’s Licence (required)
  • Motorized transportation (required due to location)
