Full job description

As Restaurant Department Leader, you will act as the General Manager’s right-hand. You will lead daily restaurant operations, drive profitability, manage staff training, and enforce strict Quality, Service, Cleanliness, and Value (QSC&V) standards. This hands-on leadership role requires managing food cost, boosting sales, and inspiring the crew to achieve results.

Salary starting at $48,000

Core Responsibilities

  • Shift Management: Run shifts without supervision, managing food production, service times, and customer service, and employee experience.
  • Financial Oversight: Assist with profit and loss (P&L) management, cash handling, and controlling food and labour costs.
  • People & Team Development: Oversee hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and staff training to ensure employees deliver exceptional hospitality.
  • Food Safety & Cleanliness: Enforce strict health, hygiene, and workplace safety guidelines.
  • Business Growth: Execute marketing plans, drive promotions, and analyze sales projections to maximize store profitability.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous management experience working in food service.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to inspire a team, resolve conflicts, and lead by example.
  • Availability: Flexible schedules are usually necessary to cover various shifts, including opening and closing duties.

Your vibe

While previous experience working in food service as a manager is helpful and appreciated, what is most important is who you are.

You lead by example and are accountable. You have high expectations and consistently raise the bar for yourself and your team. When confronted with a situation, you can assess and problem-solve with confidence. You put people before profit, knowing that creating a positive culture leads to happier, more engaged staff who will deliver a better experience for your guests.
