Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Food Service Supervisor to oversee daily operations in a fast-paced food service environment at our Mrs. Dunster's Cafe on Shediac Road. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation and safety, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role involves supervising staff, managing restaurant functions, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests. Previous experience in restaurant management, hospitality, or the food industry is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily food service operations to ensure efficiency and quality standards are met
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and presentation to maintain consistency and customer satisfaction
  • Manage POS systems for accurate cash handling and order processing
  • Lead, train, and evaluate team members in food handling, customer service, and hospitality best practices
  • Conduct interviewing and hiring processes to build a competent and motivated team
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
  • Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and foster positive guest experiences
  • Assist in restaurant management tasks including scheduling, reporting, and maintaining operational standards

Requirements

  • Proven supervising experience in a food service or restaurant environment
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations
  • Experience with POS systems

  • Background in food safety practices and adherence to health regulations
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and responsibly
  • Prior restaurant management or hospitality experience preferred; hotel or barista experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of the food industry trends and restaurant experience is desirable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
