Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Prep Cook/Dishwasher to join our brunch restaurant in Uxbridge. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, efficient, and welcoming kitchen environment while supporting food preparation and service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food industry standards, food safety, and providing excellent service to our guests. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable restaurant experience and develop culinary skills in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

  • Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and basic meal assembly under the supervision of kitchen staff
  • Maintain cleanliness of dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment through proper washing and sanitizing procedures
  • Support the kitchen team by organizing supplies and ensuring all items are stored correctly
  • Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper handling of ingredients and cleanliness standards
  • Assist with serving guests when necessary, ensuring prompt and courteous service
  • Help with general kitchen cleanup during and after shifts to uphold health regulations and safety standards
  • Support meal preparation activities as needed to ensure timely service during busy hours

Requirements

  • Prior experience in food service or restaurant environment is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
  • Knowledge of food handling safety practices and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward assisting colleagues and serving guests
  • Basic understanding of cooking techniques and food preparation is a plus
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends if needed
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting supplies or dishes
