Full job description

The Glencoe Club is a private, family-oriented sports and social club located in the Elbow Park neighbourhood of Calgary, Alberta. Our members can train and play in our leading edge sports and recreation facilities; grow and excel in our vast array of programs; enjoy our specialist services; dine in our first-class restaurants; and create life long memories with family and friends.

If you are genuinely passionate about our vision to be our members’ second home, providing excellence in all that we do, have a proven track record for creating exceptional experiences through your interactions and champion our values of respect, wellness, integrity, relationships, caring and innovation we want to hear from you.

We are seeking a skilled, dynamic, and highly motivated full-time Golf Professional to join our Athletics Team. As the first Golf Professional based at our Downtown location, you will play a key role in the continued growth and development of the indoor Golf Centre, delivering exceptional year-round golf instruction, programming, and member experiences. You will lead the development of innovative golf programs and initiatives that support member engagement, skill development, and retention, while overseeing the effective day-to-day operation of the Golf Centre, including simulators, hitting areas, instructional technology, equipment, and bookings. This role will build strong relationships with members and colleagues, identify opportunities to enhance participation and facility utilization, and collaborate across the Club and Glencoe Golf & Country Club, to support integrated programming and broader organizational priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging golf lessons, clinics, camps, leagues, and social and competitive programming for members of varying ages, skill levels, learning needs, and goals
  • Create a welcoming, visible, and service-focused Golf Centre experience by maintaining a strong presence during peak periods, building member relationships, and responding promptly and professionally to feedback and concerns
  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Golf Centre, including golf simulators, hitting areas, bookings, instructional technology, equipment, and related programming
  • Maintain facilities, equipment, and technology to establish standards for safety, functionality, presentation, and member use, including coordinating minor repairs and equipment or supply replacement
  • Monitor participation, facility utilization, revenue, and other performance metrics to evaluate programming effectiveness, support resource planning, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased off-peak simulator usage
  • Collaborate with colleagues on operational and capital budgets, program development, and facility needs, while supporting the administration of simulator leagues and other golf initiatives as required
  • Build effective partnerships across the Club and with Golf Professionals across Glencoe Golf & Country Club to coordinate initiatives, share best practices, and deliver a consistent and exceptional member experience

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of two years of experience as a skilled golf coach or instructor, with demonstrated ability to teach individuals and groups across a range of ages, skill levels, learning needs, and goals
  • Active PGA of Canada membership, with a commitment to maintaining professional standing, advancing technical expertise, and participating in ongoing professional development
  • Demonstrated knowledge of golf simulators, launch monitor technology, instructional tools, and emerging trends and best practices in golf technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear instruction and adapt communication approaches to diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to plan programming, coordinate bookings, manage competing priorities, and remain effective in a busy, dynamic environment
  • Professional, diplomatic, and collaborative approach, with strong interpersonal and member service skills and the ability to build effective relationships, anticipate member needs, and resolve concerns in a responsive, solution-focused manner. Experience in a private club, member-based, or hospitality-focused environment is considered an asset

Why choose us:

  • An inclusive and diverse working environment highlighted by creativity and collaboration, featuring top industry leaders
  • Numerous opportunities for personal and professional growth including training and development
  • Delicious, fulsome employee meals prepared daily
  • Employee referral program that rewards the additional talent you bring
  • Numerous employee recognition programs to reward you for your incredible efforts
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits available for you and your family
  • An Employee/Employer contributed to RRSP plan
