Kitchen Associate AM & PM Shifts– Swan Lake Market & Garden Vernon, B.C.

Are you energized by teamwork, great food, and creating a smooth, efficient kitchen operation? At Swan Lake Market & Garden, we’re looking to add to our Deli Department team. We’re looking for experienced, reliable and motivated Deli Associates to join our prepared foods team.

As part of our deli program, we offer fresh, made from scratch and wholesome grab-and-go dishes that are rooted in quality ingredients and thoughtful preparation.

The Role:

Deli Associate:

As a Deli Associate, you’ll play a key role in our deli’s daily operations, supporting both kitchen production and front-of-house service. This is a hands-on position where you’ll help prepare fresh, from-scratch food while also delivering excellent customer service. Your work directly contributes to the quality, presentation, and availability of the food we offer every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare fruits, vegetables, and ingredients for sandwiches, salads, bowls, and hot food items
  • Produce and maintain Grab & Go items, ensuring displays are fully stocked, fresh, and appealing
  • Assist with the preparation of sandwiches, salads, bowls, and ready-to-eat snacks
  • Support the hot food program, including basic cooking and assembly
  • Slice and portion meats and cheeses with accuracy and efficiency
  • Operate the dish station, ensuring all tools and equipment are cleaned and sanitized according to FOODSAFE standards
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked prep and service areas
  • Provide friendly and efficient customer service, including taking orders and operating the till
  • Assist team members with additional tasks to support daily production and service needs

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food prep environment is a strong asset
  • You work well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
  • Ability to lift moderate loads and stay on your feet in a fast-paced setting
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • FOODSAFE Level 1 (or willingness to obtain)
  • WHMIS certification (or willingness to obtain)
