Café Host

The Café Host takes reservations and escorts clients to their tables.

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Greet clients graciously on phone or in person
  • Escort clients to waiting area if table not immediately available
  • Seat clients at appropriate tables and supply them with menus
  • Advise on daily specials if appropriate
  • Receive coats and or purchases for coat check
  • Introduce clients to their server
  • Manage table assignments based on seating guidelines
  • Observe standard table turnover times
  • Ensure tables are bussed and re-set for all clients- partnering with servers
  • Ensure that café front desk is supplied appropriately
  • Partner with service team to deliver the nine steps of “Serving the Holt Renfrew Way”


The ideal candidate:

  • High school diploma
  • 2-3 years previous hosting experience in a restaurant environment

  • Contribution to financial objectives

Les responsabilités spécifiques comprennent ce qui suit, sans toutefois s’y limiter :

  • Accueille les clients avec courtoisie, au téléphone ou en personne.
  • Accompagne les clients à l’aire d’attente si aucune table n’est libre immédiatement.
  • Conduit les clients à leur table et leur remet le menu.
  • Informe les clients des spéciaux du jour, s’il y a lieu.
  • Prend les manteaux et (ou) les achats pour les consigner au vestiaire.
  • Présente le serveur aux clients.
  • Supervise l’attribution des tables en fonction des lignes directrices à cet effet.
  • Observe les normes temporelles relatives à la rotation des tables.
  • En collaboration avec les serveurs, s’assure que les tables sont débarrassées et prêtes à recevoir les clients.
  • S’assure que le bureau d’accueil du café ne manque d’aucune fourniture.
  • Collabore avec l’équipe de serveurs pour appliquer les neuf normes de rendement du « service à la manière du café holt ».
  • Se conforme à toutes les politiques et exigences de santé-sécurité.


Le(la) candidat(e) idéale) possède :

  • Diplôme d’études secondaires
  • De 2 à 3 années d’expérience préalable à titre d’hôte(esse) dans un restaurant
  • Parfaitement bilingue en français et en anglais

Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche :

Final compensation for this position will be determined based on the candidate's unique skills, expertise, individual qualifications, and assessed contributions to the role following the completion of the interview process.
