Full job description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Grill & Sauté Cook with at least 3 years of professional kitchen experience to join our dynamic culinary team. This position is a part-time with potential for full time in the future. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, is passionate about food, and consistently delivers quality dishes according to our menu specifications. This role requires strong multitasking skills, adherence to health and safety standards, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workstation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all grill and sauté station preparations and dishes with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Follow all menu specifications, recipes, and plating guidelines precisely.
  • Cook proteins to exact temperatures and ensure consistent quality.
  • Maintain proper station setup, including prep, stock rotation, and mise en place.
  • Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are upheld at all times, including proper food handling, storage, and labeling.
  • Clean and sanitize the grill and sauté stations before, during, and after each shift.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and communicate effectively with front-of-house when needed.
  • Monitor and report low inventory or equipment issues to management.
  • Stay calm and organized under pressure while meeting ticket times during busy service hours.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a professional restaurant kitchen, ideally in a steakhouse or high-volume grill setting.
  • Solid understanding of grill temperatures, meat cuts, and cooking techniques for beef, poultry, and seafood.
  • Proven ability to execute sauté station items, including pan sauces, vegetables, and starches.
  • Strong working knowledge of health and safety regulations and proper kitchen sanitation procedures (ServSafe certification preferred).
  • Ability to follow recipes and plating standards with high attention to detail.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment (lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods).
  • Team-oriented, dependable, and committed to high standards of quality and professionalism.
  • Flexible schedule availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
