Full job description

This is an entry-level sales opportunity with a clear path to a long-term career. Most of our senior sales team has been with us for 20 to 30+ years, and our sales manager started in shipping before working his way into sales. We're looking for the next person who wants to build the same kind of career.

Who We Are

Dunlevy Food Equipment has supplied Metro Vancouver’s restaurants with commercial kitchen equipment for over 40 years. Our reputation is built on deep product knowledge and treating customers right.

Why This Role

You'll work in one of Vancouver's largest commercial kitchen equipment showrooms, working alongside our sales team while helping restaurant owners and chefs find the right solutions. You’ll begin at $22–$26/hr based on experience and become eligible to earn commission as your responsibilities and sales grow. This is a starting point, not a ceiling. If you’re motivated, the opportunity here is real.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Help customers in our showroom find the right new and used restaurant equipment and supplies
  • Process sales and prepare customer quotes through our POS system
  • Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email in a timely, professional manner
  • Learn our product lineup, vendor relationships, and sales processes
  • Support the senior sales team and contribute to a positive, fast-paced showroom environment
  • Assist with online sales inquiries and customer follow-up

What You'll Grow Into

As you find your footing, our senior team will coach you to take on larger projects and manage your own customer relationships - including occasional customer site visits and deliveries for larger equipment orders. This isn’t expected on day one; we’ll build you up to it.

What We're Looking For

We don't expect you to know commercial kitchen equipment. We do expect curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.

  • A genuine drive to build a career in sales
  • Proficient English communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A strong work ethic, are dependable, and take pride in providing excellent customer service
  • Quick to learn new software and tools
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid BC Driver’s License, or willingness to obtain one
  • An asset: a second language, sales or food-service experience
  • Legally allowed to work in Canada

What We Offer

  • $22–$26/hr to start, plus commission as you develop in the role
  • Extended health, dental, life insurance, and disability insurance after 90 days
  • Paid time off, free on-site staff parking, casual dress
  • A genuine, performance-based path to advancement, backed by a team that has stayed for decades

Details

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • In person only. Ability to reliably commute to our Vancouver showroom is required

If you're looking for more than your next job and want to build a long-term career, we'd love to hear from you.
