Turn Good Salespeople into Great Ones.

Odenza Vacations is one of North America's leading travel companies, helping thousands of travelers create unforgettable experiences through partnerships with airlines, cruise lines, hotels, and resorts around the world.

We're not looking for a classroom instructor. We're looking for a proven sales professional who knows how to sell, close, coach, and develop salespeople into top performers.

If you've personally succeeded in sales, improved conversion rates, increased revenue, and genuinely enjoy helping other salespeople win, we want to hear from you.

About the Role

This position is responsible for improving the performance of our sales organization through sales coaching, training, accountability, and performance development.

You'll work directly with approximately 37+ travel consultants and sales professionals, helping them increase closing ratios, build confidence, improve customer conversations, and generate stronger results.

This is a hands-on role working directly with a high-volume phone-sales team. You'll listen to live and recorded sales calls, identify specific behaviours that affect performance, provide direct feedback, demonstrate better techniques, and coach consultants through practical role-play and real-world scenarios.

This is not an HR, administrative, or traditional classroom-training position.

What You'll Do

  • Coach sales consultants through live and recorded sales calls
  • Identify specific sales behaviours that are affecting conversion, closing, and revenue
  • Provide direct, actionable feedback and targeted coaching
  • Demonstrate effective discovery, questioning, objection handling, upselling, and closing techniques
  • Conduct one-on-one coaching sessions and practical group training workshops
  • Use role-play to help consultants practice, receive feedback, and improve
  • Identify individual skill gaps and create targeted improvement plans
  • Coach both experienced salespeople and new hires
  • Help onboard and accelerate new sales hires
  • Develop practical sales tools including scripts, role plays, coaching guides, and real-world scenarios
  • Partner with leadership to improve sales processes, performance, and KPIs
  • Track coaching outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Reinforce coaching through follow-up rather than treating training as a one-time event
  • Help establish a consistent and repeatable sales coaching and development system

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 12 months, you will have helped:

  • Increase overall sales conversion rates
  • Improve consultant confidence and sales effectiveness
  • Increase revenue per consultant
  • Improve consistency in sales performance
  • Reduce new-hire ramp-up time
  • Identify and address recurring sales skill gaps
  • Establish a repeatable coaching and development system
  • Create measurable improvements in sales performance through coaching

Required Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of direct sales experience
  • Proven track record of personally closing business
  • Hands-on experience coaching, mentoring, or training sales professionals
  • Strong understanding of consultative selling, objection handling, customer conversations, and closing techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to identify sales performance gaps and improve them through coaching
  • Ability to demonstrate measurable improvements achieved through your coaching or sales development efforts
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate, challenge, and develop experienced sales professionals
  • Comfortable listening to sales calls and providing direct, performance-focused feedback
  • Comfortable demonstrating sales techniques through role-play and real customer scenarios

Important

This role is not for a traditional classroom trainer.

Candidates whose experience is primarily HR, instructional design, or general learning and development — without substantial personal sales and hands-on sales coaching experience — will not be considered.

You must have personally sold and closed business and have experience coaching or developing other salespeople.

Preferred Experience

  • Travel industry experience
  • Hospitality or tourism experience
  • High-volume phone-sales or call-centre environment
  • Inside sales leadership or coaching
  • B2C consultative sales
  • Experience coaching experienced salespeople as well as new hires

What We Offer

  • $65,000 base salary + performance bonuses after 6 months, tied to sales growth, conversion improvements, and training outcomes
  • Extended health benefits
  • Company events
  • On-site gym
  • Direct visibility with leadership and the opportunity to make a measurable impact on company growth
  • Opportunity to help build and shape Odenza's sales coaching and development approach
  • Fast-growing company with opportunities for career advancement

Why This Role Is Different

Most companies hire trainers to teach sales techniques.

We're looking for someone who can transform sales performance.

You'll have the opportunity to directly influence revenue, develop sales talent, build a strong coaching culture, and make a measurable impact on the success of the organization.

If you've personally succeeded in sales and get genuine satisfaction from helping other salespeople achieve the same success, we'd like to meet you.

Please answer all application questions in your own words. No AI-generated answers. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.

Pay: $65,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Company events
  • Extended health care
  • On-site gym

Application question(s):

  • (if applicable) What is your current status in Canada? If you are holding a work permit, please let us know its validity period.
  • Walk us through how you would coach a sales consultant after listening to one of their recorded calls. What do you look for, and how do you deliver the feedback?
  • Do you prefer one-on-one coaching or group training workshops, and why? Give an example of each from your experience.
  • How do you handle an experienced salesperson who resists coaching or believes they don't need it?
  • Describe your coaching style. How do you approach a salesperson who is underperforming?
