About This Opportunity

We are currently hiring compassionate caregivers for a variety of home care assignments throughout Calgary, including opportunities supporting Italian seniors living with dementia.

The ideal candidate understands the importance of preserving dignity, routines, culture, and connection while providing person-centered care. Strong cooking skills are highly valued, as preparing traditional home-cooked meals is an important part of supporting many of our clients' quality of life.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
  • Strong cooking skills and confidence preparing home-style meals
  • Italian language skills considered a strong asset
  • Experience providing hourly, extended-hour, live-in, or overnight care
  • Compassionate, patient, and relationship-focused approach to caregiving

What You'll Do

  • Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Support clients living with dementia using person-centered care approaches
  • Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, including traditional family-style cooking when appropriate
  • Provide companionship and meaningful engagement
  • Monitor changes in client well-being and communicate with the nursing team
  • Assist with light housekeeping related to client care
  • Support families with professionalism, compassion, and respect

Requirements

  • Health Care Aide certification or equivalent experience
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Clear criminal record check
  • Professional references
  • Dementia care experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are considered strong assets
