Scientific Digital Marketing Strategist (Remote)
Are you a PhD level scientist that wants to learn more about business and digital marketing while working remotely?
Supreme Optimization is hiring a full-time Digital Strategist to join our remote Digital Strategy team. This role is designed specifically for scientists who want to apply their analytical thinking, technical expertise, and intellectual curiosity to digital marketing strategy for life science companies.
No prior digital marketing experience is required — we provide full training.

Role Title: DigitalStrategist - SEO/GEO
Mission of the role: To develop and lead data-driven SEO and website strategy initiatives for life science and pharma clients, improving search visibility, strengthening website performance, and driving meaningful business outcomes while serving as a trusted strategic partner.
What You’ll Do
Strategy and Execution
- Develop SEO and website strategies for life science and pharmaceutical clients across a variety of engagement types.
- Conduct research and analysis to identify growth opportunities aligned with business objectives.
- Evaluate technical website performance and provide data-driven recommendations to improve search visibility and user experience.
- Translate complex scientific offerings into clear digital strategies aligned with user intent.
- Partner closely with content, design, development, and paid media teams to ensure alignment across digital initiatives.
- Present insights and strategic recommendations directly to clients.
Performance and Analysis
- Monitor website and search performance using industry-standard tools.
- Analyze data to assess impact and inform ongoing strategy.
- Develop clear reporting that translates performance insights into actionable recommendations.
- Identify opportunities to improve website performance and conversion pathways.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Conduct keyword research and search intent analysis
- Perform competitive analyses to identify search positioning opportunities
- Audit websites for technical SEO issues, including crawlability, indexing, metadata, internal linking, and page performance.
- Develop detailed SEO recommendations and implementation briefs for internal teams or clients.
- Support website redesign and development projects by integrating SEO & UX best practices
- Monitor organic traffic, keyword rankings, and technical performance using tools such as GA4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
- Analyze performance data to measure impact and identify opportunities.
- Prepare data-driven reports and contribute to client-facing presentations.
- Collaborate with content, design, development, and paid media teams to align SEO with broader digital strategy.
Mandatory Skills:
- Scientific background with a PhD in a life science field, such as Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Cellular Biology, Neuroscience, Microbiology, or Immunology (Not accepting degrees in math, physics, engineering, or astronomy).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working directly with clients and building professional relationships
- Curious, analytical thinker with a creative problem-solving mindset
- Open to feedback and committed to continuous improvement
- Dependable, deadline-driven, and detail-oriented
