Four Counties Addiction Services Team (Fourcast) is a community-based addiction treatment service provider that strives to provide the highest quality of evidence-based addiction treatment and case management services. Fourcast offers services across 5 sites in the region. The community treatment program staff work in-office and community settings and are often co-located and integrated with other organizations to reduce barriers for those accessing services.
About The Position...
We are looking for experienced individuals for our bed based treatment centre to work the following hours:
Days, evenings, weekends and overnight shifts.
All relief staff will be required to work at least one (1) shift per month.
Four Counties Addiction Services Team (Fourcast) six (6) bed Bed-Based Withdrawal Management Service (BBWMS) is dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for service users experiencing withdrawal symptoms related to substance use. This program offers a non-judgemental setting where service users can receive care and support while managing the physical and emotional challenges from withdrawal.
The Withdrawal Management Worker (WMW), in collaboration with and under the guidance of a multidisciplinary team that includes a Program Manager, a Nurse Practitioner (NP), and Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) and an Admissions Coordinator will help provide a safe and supportive environment for withdrawal management service users. The WMW contributes support in managing symptoms and promoting the overall well-being of each service user. Additionally, you will collaborate with the health team to assist with ongoing assessments, contribute to the implementation of evidence-based interventions, and help develop and support the inter-professional plan that addresses the needs and goals of each service user.
The Bed Based Addiction Worker provides essential support to service users by assisting with daily activities and personal care within a bed-based addiction recovery centre. This role includes supportive coaching, crisis intervention, conflict mediation, and facilitation of psycho-educational groups and community meetings as well as evening and weekend program activities. In collaboration with Bed-Based Addiction Counsellors, the Bed-Based Addiction Worker helps implement and facilitate structured recovery programs, ensuring service users actively engage in therapeutic activities, skill-building exercises, and daily living tasks. They play a vital role in maintaining program integrity and supporting service users in their journey toward recovery, helping them build the tools necessary to meet their personal goals.
Additionally, the Bed Based Addictions Worker is responsible for maintaining the overall safety of the residence, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for service users during their stay.

Education & Training
- Requires a college diploma or certificate in the Human/Social Services field (e.g., Social Service Worker, Human Services Worker, Addiction Worker.
- Food Handling Certification
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a related addictions or mental health setting.
- 1 year of recent and relevant experience working in a community or bed-based withdrawal management or other related work in the addiction sector.
Certifications, Licenses and Records
- Valid First Aid/CPR.
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certificate.
- Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) an asset.
- Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of harm reduction philosophy and practice as it relates to healthcare, mental health and addiction interventions.
- Knowledge of issues related to mental health and addictions in hospital and community settings along with awareness of common theories and interventions for supporting individuals facing complex addiction challenges.
- Understanding of substance use, mental health and concurrent disorders and have a demonstrated ability to identify challenges in substance use and mental health recovery.
- Knowledge of withdrawal symptoms for various substances and understanding of withdrawal management and the impact this has on physical and mental health.
- Experience in the use of evidence-based screening tools used with those experiencing substance use and mental health challenges.
- Commitment to service user focused philosophy of care.
