ICS hires casual (relief) Community Support Workers to cover sick, vacation, and emergency shifts. Many of our programs operate 24/7, with shifts of 7:00am–3:00pm, 3:00pm–11:00pm, or 11:00pm–7:00am (awake overnights).
Casual staff must be available for at least 3 shifts per week (including 1 weekend shift) and, depending on availability, may work up to 40 hours per week.

Why choose ICS as your future employer?

  • Meaningful Work: Empower individuals with diverse abilities to live their best lives.
  • Competitive Pay: Earn $25.95–$29.76/hour.

Your Role as a CSW:

  • Foster independence and skill development for those with diverse abilities.
  • Provide hands-on care and support in everyday activities like cooking, personal care, and community outings.
  • Build meaningful relationships and create opportunities for inclusion, confidence, and growth.

Qualifications Required:

  • Relevant education, training, and/or experience supporting people with diverse abilities—particularly individuals with high-risk behaviours and high medical needs (this is a bonus).
  • Class 5 Driver’s License (a Class 4 is an asset and may be required for permanent positions).
  • First Aid Certification with CPR (or willingness to obtain during probation).

Additionally, you’ll need:

  • A clean Criminal Record Check, Certificate of Good Health, Food Safe Certification (or equivalent), clean driver's abstract.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to build positive relationships with individuals, families, and coworkers.
  • Empathy, patience, and adaptability to meet diverse needs without prejudice.
  • Physical capability for safe lifting, transferring, and participation in community activities.
  • Flexibility for evening, weekend, or holiday shifts when required.
  • Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office applications.

No experience? No problem! We provide training for safe lifting, transferring, medication adminstration and much more!
