Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Rehab Support Worker to join our rehabilitation team. This role involves providing essential support to patients undergoing rehabilitation, assisting with daily activities at home and in the community, and ensuring a safe and encouraging environment for recovery. The ideal candidate will have experience in acute care and/or long term settings, and a solid understanding of medical terminology. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working within a collaborative healthcare environment.

Responsibilities could include:

  • Assist patients with mobility, exercises, and daily living activities under the supervision of licensed therapists or medical staff
  • Support patients during therapy sessions, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols are followed
  • Monitor patient progress and report any concerns or changes to the healthcare team
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control standards and safety procedures
  • Document patient interactions, progress notes, and relevant information accurately in medical records
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their rehabilitation journey
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans

Skills

  • Experience in acute care or rehabilitation settings is preferred
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology to accurately interpret and communicate patient information
