The Compressor Aerodynamics department is responsible for the aerodynamic design, analysis, validation and certification of fans, axial and centrifugal compressors and bypass ducts. The responsibilities span from pre-detail design to field support for all P&WC products, including turboprop, turboshaft, turbofan and APU applications. The team regularly interacts with many customers including marketing, advanced design, detail design, development, programs, manufacturing & quality and aftermarket.

This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Mississauga, and performed exclusively on-site.

What will your day-to-day look like?

  • Compressor aerodynamic analysis and design experience with knowledge of gas turbine testing

  • Use CFD/CFX analysis tools to analyze and optimize the compressor design

  • Be highly motivated with strong analytical thinking

  • Contribute to process improvement and knowledge documentation

  • Be able to work effectively under time pressure, embraces change and supports continuous improvement initiatives.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years experience, Master’s with a minimum of 3 years experience

  • Ability to use computer software: ANSYS CFX, Workbench and Catia V5

  • Relevant knowledge and experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering.

Desirable qualities

  • Capable of working alone and in teams, interested in sharing knowledge and improving processes, good written and oral communication skills.

  • Occasional overtime, evening, weekend or holiday support may be required.

  • Bilingualism is an asset.

The salary range for this role is 78,000 CAD - 122,850 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. RTX offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical and dental coverage, disability benefits, a retirement savings program, and tuition assistance through RTX’s Employee Scholar Program. Eligibility for specific benefits is based on factors such as position level, employment type (e.g., temporary or permanent), and business unit, and will be discussed during the hiring process.
